Death Doula Care
Hello friend,
I’m honored you’re here and know that the road you are embarking on can be a lonely one. My greatest hope is that, through the care I provide, it feels a little less lonely and a lot more comforting.
I received my Death Doula certification through the International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA.org) in 2021 and have been providing death-related care to folks in-person and virtually since then.
Whether you yourself are facing your own death or you are a loved one of someone nearing their death, I would be honored to work with you.
I am trained to provide non-medical care centered around your emotional and spiritual comfort, while also providing basic physical comforts like tending to your surroundings (adjusting lights and temperature, fluffing pillows/blankets, applying cool or warm compresses to the forehead, etc.) and sitting vigil.
Some of the services I provide are:
Sitting Vigil
Legacy Planning and Projects
Grief and Emotional Companionship
Facilitating Basic Advance Care Planning Conversations
Respite for Caregivers
Hospice Care Team Liaising
Creating a Peaceful Environment
Basic Logistical Needs (Contacting Funerary Professionals, Coordinating Meal Deliveries, etc.)
In order for my LGBTQ+ affirming, trauma-informed care to be more accessible to more humans, I offer my services on a pay-what-you’re-able, hourly pay rate with a minimum rate of $22 per hour.
If you’d like to work with me, please send me an email at thankyou.iloveyou.keepgoing@gmail.com and I look forward to connecting with you soon.
“Those who have the strength and the love to sit with a dying patient in the silence that goes beyond words will know that this moment is neither frightening nor painful, but a peaceful cessation of the functioning of the body. Watching a peaceful death of a human being reminds us of a falling star; one of a million lights in a vast sky that flares up for a brief moment.”
— Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, On Death and Dying
